As of January
1, 2006, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) requires the amount
of trans fat in a serving of food to be listed on all food nutritional
labels. Here's what that means to you.
What is Trans Fat?
Trans fatty acid, also known as trans fat, is a monounsaturated fatty
acid that:
- Increases
"bad" (LDL) cholesterol levels in blood, increasing the risk
of heart disease.
- Lowers
"good" (HDL) cholesterol, a blood lipid associated with a
reduced risk of heart disease.
Zero Trans
Fat. 100% Mission.
Our zero trans fat content won't affect the quality or performance of
your Mission Foods products a bit.
- Taste
- It doesn't matter how good it is for you if it doesn't taste great.
We took out the trans fat but left in the flavor.
- Texture
- You still get the same texture and appearance you've come to expect
from Mission.
Whether it's
a single application or a whole new menu, Mission Foods tortilla products
are a great way to start your zero trans fat offering.
